Dhoko Orchestra is a somewhat enigmatic Serbian collective of musicians led by sound engineer Raško Šantic and Dhoko Records founder Goran Doskovi?, joined for this release by the equally mysterious vocal group Sons Of Magni.

‘Parables Of Magni’ features seven extended versions and alternate mixes of tracks previously released on 7-inch vinyl (with the addition of bonus track ‘Introducing The Orchestra’).
The project is described by the creators as follows: “The seven musical parables you will now discover were shaped and captured for the sole purpose of transmitting a borderless message of peace and friendship among people. They are a call for brotherhood, a call to fight against oppression, and an expression of the need to permanently revolt against the injustices that rest upon our generations. By gathering the talents of a group of roots reggae enthusiasts, the Dhoko project intends to set music and works at the centerpiece of its efforts. The secrecy that surrounds this enterprise is mostly due to the unwavering belief that our music shall speak for itself.”.
While we were particularly drawn to the instrumental tracks on ‘Parables Of Magni’, that’s merely a matter of personal preference. Highlights include closing track ‘Clocks Of Men’ and its instrumental counterpart, bonus track ‘Introducing The Orchestra’.
