Kumar meets The 18th Parallel - Tales Of Reality (Fruits Records)

Following 'Prosperity', their 2022 collaboration with Derajah, Swiss band The 18th Parallel now presents 'Tales Of Reality', recorded with former Raging Fyah frontman Kumar Bent.

Like ‘Prosperity’, this album was also recorded in showcase style, with each vocal track followed by an equally compelling dub version.

From the rootsy opener ‘Salvation’, with Claude ‘Jah See’ Jordan’s bass flute acting as a second voice, and the infectious peace anthem ‘World Wide Love’, featuring standout trumpet work by Alexandre Schneiter, to the stepper vibes of ‘Things We Once Knew’ and the reggae-disco of closing track ‘Everything Takes Time’, the track list of ‘Tales Of Reality’ brims with solid tunes.

The entire project was mixed by Laurent ‘Tippy I’ Alfred and David ‘Jah David’ Goldfine of Zion I Kings, who also delivered the top-notch dubs.

Modern reggae classic of the highest order!
