Our first encounter with the Trinidadian Mosiah (Akeil Martin), who relocated to Heidelberg, Germany, dates back to 2017. Since then, things had been relatively quiet, but now Mosiah returns with 'I-Frequency', a full-length album for which he once again collaborates with Selector Tyler of Ragatac Records and his own Mystic Rockaz band.

Mosiah: “I didn’t pick the tracks, the tracks picked me. ‘I-Frequency’ means: “My frequency”. Every song has its real-life story.”.
Just under half of the twelve tracks on the album are duets with artists such as Teacha Dee, Denham Smith, Skarra Mucci, Trinidadian Elder Son (who also appeared on Mosiah’s debut EP ‘Chant Tafari’), and Barbadian sensation Tabitha Gerbadian, who delivers some dancehall fire on ‘No Fear’.
Mosiah: “I thought of the style of every artist and instead of being selfish and going in my own direction and comfort zone, I intended to make like a foundation suitable to what I knew they would like. I then came out of my comfort zone and made it work as best I knew…”.
We particularly enjoyed the infectious ‘Economic Slavery’ with Teacha Dee and the robust ‘Vampire’ with Skarra Mucci. The intimate nyahbinghi vibes of the opener and repatriation tune ‘Sailing Home’ also resonated with us.
Additionally, tracks like ‘From A Far’, ‘Black Livity’, and ‘More Than Gold’ showcase Mosiah’s talent for delivering top-notch new roots.
While ‘I-Frequency’ might not quite reach top release status, this album nonetheless solidifies Mosiah’s place on the reggae map!
