Voor 'Timeless Bond' sloeg het Italiaanse De Strangers de handen in elkaar met Galas Mbengue, een Senegalees-Italiaanse vocalist uit Turijn, en dubmaker Buriman van Moa Anbessa uit Venetië.

Met hun tweede langspeler hadden Elia Pozzi (vocals/drums) en Emiliano Vegro (toetsen) dan ook een duidelijke missie voor ogen: “We wanted to create an album that wasn’t just a tribute to reggae culture, but a full musical experience, capable of immersing the listener in the genre’s various facets, from classic to more modern and experimental sounds. The band played with rhythms and harmonies, offering a rich and complex overview of reggae’s diverse nuances, all held together by the unifying presence of Galas. His voice and lyrical style, blending reflections on the present, echoes of the past, and a strong critique of power structures, give the project a cohesive and deeply narrative dimension.”
In de tracklist van deze showcase-productie met 5 vocal cuts en evenveel dubs zowel rootsy composities zoals ‘Liberation Song’ of ‘Tea Bubbling’ (een samenwerking met Mellow Mood-bassist Jules I en een lekkere trombone-solo van Didier Yon) als een stevige UK stepper als ‘What’s Wrong’, een aanklacht tegen oorlog, ongelijkheid en hebzucht, waarin Galas zich hardop afvraagt: “What’s wrong with the world? What’s wrong with humanity?”.
De meer dan uitstekende dubversies van Buriman mag u beschouwen als de slagroom op de taart!
