Dhoko Orchestra & Sons Of Magni - Parables Of Magni (Dhoko Records)

Op ‘Parables Of Magni’ staan 7 extended versions en alternatieve mixen van nummers die eerder al op 7inch verschenen (aangevuld met de bonustrack ‘Introducing The Orchestra’).

Zelf vatten ze het project als volgt samen: “The seven musical parables you will now discover were shaped and captured for the sole purpose of transmitting a borderless message of peace and friendship among people. They are a call for brotherhood, a call to fight against oppression and an expression of the need to permanently revolt against the injustices that rest upon our generations. By gathering the talents of a group of roots reggae enthusiasts, the Dhoko project intends to set music and works at the centrepiece of its works. The secrecy that surrounds this enterprise is mostly due to the unfailing belief that our music shall speak for itself.”.

Wij hadden het eerder voor de instrumentale tracks op ‘Parables of Magni’, maar dat mag u beschouwen als louter persoonlijke voorkeur. Wel zouden we nog afsluiter ‘Clocks Of Men’ en de instrumentale tegenhanger, bonustrack ‘Introducing The Orchestra’ willen aanstippen als persoonlijke favorieten uit de tracklist.

Absolute ontdekking en een album waarvan wij vermoeden dat het in de toekomst wel eens zou kunnen uitgroeien tot een gewild collectors item onder vinylverzamelaars!
